Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Sips by Review (Month 1)

Sips by Review (Month 1)

We are big tea drinkers in my house. Our tea kettle is turned on almost every day. If you are a tea fiend like me and want to expand your horizons let me talk to you about Sips by.

How it works
On a monthly basis, Sips by will ship you a box of 4 tea samples. You sample the teas, rate them, and wait for your next shipment. My favorite part is that each box contains enough tea to make 15 cups throughout the month.

The Box
The size of my first Sips by box was sleek. However, some tea samples came in packaging that was too large and a bit wasteful. Each box also features a personalized note describing the teas you’ve received along with brewing instructions.

Rating The Teas

⭐️⭐️⭐️
Roasted Almond Chai (By Fava Tea): This was the flavor I was most excited to try as chai is one of my favorite flavors and I love anything with a nutty quality. The brewed tea had the most intoxicating nutty smell, however the flavor was quite mild. The aroma was stronger than the taste and I was left feeling this tea didn’t reach its' full potential.

The Emerald Masala (by Chai and Mighty): I enjoyed that this was a spice forward tea. The green tea was featured lightly in the background. This tea was pleasant enough, but did not wow me.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pomegranate Oolong (by Harney and Sons): This one was great. The pomegranate flavor came out to play and I was here for it. Oolong tea leaves were a welcome accompaniment to the pomegranate.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Super Fruit (by Teapigs): This was by far my favorite tea. This tea featured tart hibiscus alongside sweet berries. This tea was a flavor bomb with a beautiful fuchsia color. I could drink this tea hot or iced all summer long.

Did I enjoy this box?
I enjoyed my Sips by box very much. It is a good way to sample new teas. I believe that $15 is a fair price for a box. The samples are plentiful and each box allows the consumer to have a tea experience. Sample your box on your own or invite friends or family to sample with you.

Longevity of this service
I am looking forward to my next box, but wonder about the longevity of this service. In 6 months, after sampling 24 teas, will I want to sample more? Or will I want to order full sized boxes of the ones I really liked? That is something to think about.

Tea Lovers Unite
I would recommend this service for any tea lover. I am looking forward to using it for the next few months. This would make a great holiday gift, a seasonal gift, or a care package for a college student. If your coworker is sipping tea all day long gift them a box too. Move over coffee lovers, us tea drinkers will soon take over the world!
