The One Tool You Should Purchase To Improve Your Cooking
The one thing that seems to trip up most people trying to cook more at home is cooking protein. You wonder is it cooked? Is it undercooked? Should I just cut into it and check? Take the fear and guesswork out of cooking protein. There is one cooking tool that I recommend purchasing if you don't already own one. That tool is a meat thermometer.
You can purchase one at a home goods store or online on Amazon. The price can range, but I don't think there is any reason to spend more then $10-$15 on one. This tool can transform your cooking.
When you believe your protein is done cooking, insert the tip of the meat thermometer into the thickest part of your protein and wait for the temperature reading to appear. If it's not at the correct temperature, wait a little longer and try again. Once it reaches the correct temperature you are done.
Some people may be nervous to cook chicken breast, red meat, or fish due to the uncertainty of knowing when it is done. This tool will remove all the uncertainty.
